About the UCJRD   Field Status

In 1994, the city of Marysville, Ohio, the Board of Trustees of Paris Township, and the Board of County Commissioners of Union County, Ohio identified the need for recreational facilities and activities to serve all the residents of Union County. These 3 government entities established the Union County Joint Recreation District pursuant to Section 755.14(b) of the Ohio Revised Code to meet these needs.

In 1995, approximately fifty acres located at 16000 County Home Road, Marysville, Ohio was deeded to the UCJRD, and development of a sports complex began. Today the complex consists of a parking area, 4 baseball/softball fields (2 with lights), a concession stand with restroom facilities, a walking trail, a playground area, and 3 regulation size soccer fields which are sectioned off into 14 smaller fields to facilitate youth soccer. There are approximately 25 acres left for future development, and the UCJRD has plans to develop these acres with additional soccer, football, baseball, picnic / family reunion, tennis, basketball, horseshoe and shuffleboard facilities.

The UCJRD hopes to fund the future development with corporate and private sponsorships, as well as future contributions from the 3 government entities. Community support will be essential for the future development of this complex. If any individual, corporation or sports organization has a desire to be part of the future development of this complex, please see the sponsors page of this website.
